Position Summary

Position is responsible for recruiting individuals for a multi-center study on the genetics of alcoholism, conducting comprehensive psychiatric interviews, performing EEG brain scans, administering neuropsychological tests, and scheduling blood draws.

Position will include work remote from home and work in the office at the Medical Center Campus.

Job Description

Ability to work flexible hours, including a minimum of two evenings per week and two Saturdays per month.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, screens, and schedules subjects for study per protocol.
  • Interviews patients enrolled in study per protocol.
  • Performs phlebotomy and skin testing in accordance with study guidelines.
  • Refers patients to resources available in community and social services.
  • Maintains proper documentation and record keeping.
  • Monitors and orders supplies necessary for study.
  • Delivers study samples to lab for testing.
  • Prepares information packets for patients enrolled in study.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Extremely detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact confidently and professionally with adults of all ages.
  • Prior Human Subject research experience.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions independently.
  • Ability to work competently with PC based computer programs.
  • Interactive communication skills with the ability to work with physicians and patients.
  • Strong organizational and phlebotomy skills.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or a related field plus a minimum of one year of relevant experience; a combination of work and education equaling five years may substitute for this requirement.

Salary Range

$18.47 - $27.73 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
