The Studio at Situation Group crafts award-winning work for the world’s leading entertainment, education, and mission-driven brands. The Studio seeks a Proofreader with a background in print and digital mediums to ensure that our marketing materials are error-free and effectively convey our client’s brand messaging. This role will report to the Project Management Supervisor and support our clients in the arts, entertainment, nonprofit and higher education space.


What You’ll Do

The Proofreader is responsible for checking all documentation produced by the Studio for grammar, style, and brand consistency. They are also responsible for ensuring that any modifications made to the content are accurate and complete.

Our office is located in midtown Manhattan, and we are currently working in-office three days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.


Sample Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Production Designers and Art Directors to proofread and approve marketing materials.
  • Review copy for grammatical, typographic, and composition errors to ensure flawless and effective communication.
  • Validate the accuracy and completeness of changes to all documentation, delivering high-quality work that reflects the agency's standards of excellence.
  • Provide meticulous and timely review of marketing materials for composition and style, enhancing the clarity and impact of our messaging.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with our team, acting as a collaborative and trusted resource for proofreading needs.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience as a proofreader, editor, or similar role in an agency setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors in written material.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with style guides such as AP, MLA, and Chicago.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred.
