Position Title: Project Manager, Mid-Atlantic Region

Reports to:

  • Business Unit Leader
  • Production Manager

Job Location: Hampton Roads; areas covered - Norfolk, Newport News, Portsmouth, Virginia.

Job Summary

  • Participate in daily walk through of current jobs, review job scope and validate compliance to company work against customer Purchase Orders (PO)/Scope of work. Inspect for additional scaffold components built as extras during the process of the build and/or remaining items to still be completed. Track and monitor period of performance of scaffold builds in place, including when scaffold was erected, and what is the anticipated date of dismantle – track scaffold rental periods and terms in accordance with PO.
  • Customer Interface and Required Contract Reporting: Review CFR/RCC and project scope change submittals to Customer with local business unit leader.
  • Manage project scope changes with local business unit leader
  • Participate in bid preparations, reviews, and submissions
  • Attend customer project meetings (i.e., schedule meetings, briefings, negotiations)
  • Control rental durations
  • Review work item specifications
  • Participate initial contract startup & kick off meetings – manage information such as the order and timeliness of items needed at the beginning of the project.
  • Manage to the budget, execute timely, monitor growth opportunities
  • Participate in customer negotiations
  • Additional Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Authorized to commit ASI contractually on assigned Project(s) within limitations set by Business Unit Leader and Delegation of Authority.
  • Manages CFR reporting requirements for both required reporting and identification and proper documentation of Growth and New Work opportunities and schedule impacts and delays
  • Ensure adherence to Bid letter and PO requirements with respect to Schedule, Quality, and other contractual performance requirements
  • Ensures participation at all required daily/weekly Project integration meetings and completion of resulting action items
  • Work Products/Routine Reporting Requirements:

Ensures in-house reporting is provided to Upper Management as required

  • Ensures contractually required status reports are submitted as required or directed (i.e., weekly status, material status).
  • Attends weekly/or as scheduled, ASI progress meetings
  • Attends required Project meetings
  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in marine shipyard environment
  • Positive customer service skills
  • Previous production experience in leadership role in marine ship repairenvironment desired
  • Ability to use electronic data bases including Microsoft Office products
  • Previous experience in government contracting/estimating work desired

Physical Requirements: Physical stamina required.

Mental Requirements: Mental agility and competency required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Duties could include oversight of the Project Production and Support personnel assigned to the Project

Working Conditions: Most work performed under pressured, fast-paced conditions; frequently requires overtime. Minimal exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery.
