job summary:

Rapidly growing manufacturing company located in the NW Houston area is currently in search for a Project Engineer to join their team. The Project Engineer performs document control and records management on behalf of project user groups. Provides key support for functional groups and customers, including performance of a wide variety of specialized functions involving document control and records management. Provides the leadership needed to address issues, motivate staff members and manage and maintain compliance to applicable standards such as ASME certifications, ISO, Government Specifications, etc.

responsibilities:
  • Directs department activities / acts as company liaison to manage customer projects through the entire process from customer inquiry through shipment of product.
  • Performs document control and records management on behalf of project user group(s). Includes maintenance and delivery of records/data management services and systems, which may include: maintenance of files, archiving, and management of repositories.
  • Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex.
  • Day-to-day problem solving, working closely with production, sales technical specialists, designers, purchasing, Q.C., R&D and in trouble shooting of field problems of customers
  • Compiling and arranging data, making computations, laying out and preparing reports, processing and coding documents.
  • Maintain specialized and comprehensive records and filing.
  • Review all new document control jobs for vendor document requirements and due dates for documents.
  • Review Vendor Document Requirements during quote stage and provides a cost for the requirements. Obtain Plant Manger approval on this.
  • Request and submit Certificate of Insurance as required.
  • Resolves discrepancies and may communicate with a variety of administrative and professional employees within and outside the organization.
  • Confers with management, production, and sales staff to determine project feasibility, define technical requirements, cost effectiveness, and customer requirements for various projects
  • Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures
  • Sets up and prepares statistical reports.
