As a Project Engineer, in conjunction with Supply Chain Analyst duties, you will help maintain the master production schedule in accordance with the corporation's strategic business plan. Engages in special build and inventory analysis, such as obsolescence projections and new product introduction. Serves as an interface between Manufacturing, Marketing, and Supplier Development, as well as the main source of information regarding forecast and schedule changes within the Supplier Development Group. Acts as a major contributor in the operation's planning process. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, Ca.

What You'll Do

• Manage the shipment of product from manufacturing and distribution locations in the Americas to Abbott affiliates and direct Abbott customers worldwide.
• Allocation of product to ensure maximum container utilization and minimize transportation costs.
• Coordination shipment with source warehouses and transportation providers.
• Coordination of all required export documentation.
• Ensure prompt, accurate and efficient handling of communications concerning shipments and any other relevant aspect of the business.
• Monitor key performance indicators for responsible area, perform root cause analysis, and develop and implement corrective action plans to improve levels of performance.
• Maintain the master arrivals schedule (MAS) to ensure replenishments are meeting market demand and safety stock targets.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve overall effectiveness of the supply chain, increase customer service, and reduce operating costs.
• Lead cross-functional project teams to support integration of new product introduction
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external supply chain partners and third party manufacturers.
• Able to make decisions regarding distribution of product to ensure cost effective transportation and timely delivery of product.
• Ability to proactively identify and communicate issues affecting on time delivery of product to the market.
• Lead new business integration activities and drive continuous improvement supply chain initiatives in support of maximizing Abbott sales.
• Opportunity to travel both domestic and international

Experience You'll Bring

Required

• Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) in Related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum 2-5 years of related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area.

Preferred

• Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills
• Supply chain experience
• Some technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical components related to medical device manufacturing
• Willing to learn and take on multiple projects
