About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Project Drafter to join our team in Bluffton, IN. This role is responsible to prepare and check 3D models, 2D drawings, bill of materials and other information for electric motors. This job will require communicaton with a broad range of people/groups including engineers, sales, customers, manufacturing operators, manufacturing, IT, and WEG management. It also includes training of entry level drafting technicians.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Read, check and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Provide training to drafting technicians on but not limited to 3d models, 2d drawings, bill of materials and SAP
  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using 2D and 3D modeling software.
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
  • Modify and revise drawings, 3D models, and bill of materials to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
  • Responsible for bill of materials, and engineering changes.
  • Provide technical support to other functional areas as needed.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:

  • High School or GED.

Knowledge / training:

  • SolidWorks 3d models, 2d drawings.
  • Very detailed in working with numbers, bill of materials.
  • Using rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
  • Proven success learning new industry, company, product, or technical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of AC motors and electric systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrical and safety standard on AC motors and components.

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience with electric motors in, Engineering, Manufacturing, and SolidWorks, preferred.
  • Working in an engineering environment.
  • SAP.
