Description
The Facilities Division is hiring a Project Design Coordinator I that performs professional work participating in the preparation of site plans, architectural plans, engineering plans, feasibility studies and/or construction projects and plans. Researches and drafts technical designs and specifications subject to review and approval.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Participates in design of new struction and/or renovation/restoration of existing structures to suit the agency's needs
  • Assists in preparation of construction plans/specifications/cost estimates within statutory limitations for construction of proposed projects.
  • Performs detailed/technical drafting.
  • Conducts site surveys to determine site characteristics such as lay of terrain/views/public service access/utility availability/soil conditions.
  • Advises field construction personnel regarding construction procedures/scheduling.
  • Makes field inspections/monitors construction.
  • Revises in-house CAD/GIS tracings to as-built.
  • Conducts research/topography studies/resource inventories necessary in preparing plans.
  • Prepares proj programming submittal for state/federal projects
  • Meets with representatives of consulting firms to discuss projects.
  • Writes reports/informs supervisor of progress on projects.
  • Serves as base Geospatial Information Officer (GIO).
  • Acts as primary POC for base-level Installation Geospatial information & services with data stewards.
  • Coordinates geospatial requirements with Major Command/AFCEC GIO.
  • Responsible for maintenance/quality assurance/overall data integrity of Defense Installation Spatial Data Infrastructure Common & AF Installation Picture IAW applicable guidance.
  • Executes geospatial activities IAW AFI32-10112.
  • Coordinates workflow with field operating agency/primary subordinate unit/Real Property Manager/Installation's Engineering flight chief on policy guidance/standard operating procedures.
  • Enhances the workflow process of data acquisition from field surveys.
  • Provides for data discoverability through Installation Geospatial Information & AutoCAD services/capabilities.
  • Assists State Maintenance and Engineering Officers with organizational and financial requirements relating to ongoing projects within Master Cooperative Agreement 21/31.
  • Acts as liaison between federal and state personnel.
  • Manages the EAL (Entry Authorizations List) program for MCA 31, which includes gathering personnel data from vendors in order to meet security requirements.
  • Assists administration with miscellaneous data entry.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture or a related field.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of experience in site planning, landscape, facilities design, facilities construction, or a related field.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in the office and in the field. Will be exposed to risks inherent to construction sites.
