SPA has multiple openings for a Project Control Analyst (PCA). The PCA will become a part of our fast-paced, award winning team and play an integral part of our success and growth. This position will report to the Division Business Manager and have a dynamic portfolio of responsibilities. The PCA will have a seat at the table for decision-making and for making SPA a superior company in our industry.

Responsibilities:

The Project Control Analyst (PCA) thrives on both the program control and corporate controller responsibilities of the job and understands the difference. This is a new position supporting the ORCA Division and we are looking for someone who can make it their own. The PCA shall:

Bring best practices to support our financial plans and policies, accounting practices and procedures.

  • Be responsible for creating new program spend plans and EACs.
  • Attend and be responsible for the financial structure/revenue setup for internal project kick-off meetings
  • Develop and maintain customer financial reports and deliverables.
  • Assist with cash flow by approving expenses ensuring invoices are submitted to clients in a timely manner and analyzing the DSO to look for ways to improve
  • Be responsible for program revenue and profit reporting.
  • Be responsible for subcontractor and consultant accruals, cost tracking and invoice reviews
  • Support financial planning, forecasts, and provide controller responsibilities such as A/R, Journal entries, A/P, etc.
  • Work side by side with Program Managers to help their programs be successful and interacts with all functional and line organizations.
  • Must continuously be energized by a fast-paced environment and balance closing each month with attending needed PM/customer meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned
This position will be in office in San Diego, CA in Liberty Station

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Salary pay range: $100,000-$125,000
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with financial planning, analysis and operations in a government contracting setting.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with FAR compliance, CAS compliance, DCAA compliance, GAAP compliance and SOX compliance.
  • Must understand financial statements and possess the ability to interpret and evaluate profit and loss statements and balance sheets relevant to operations
  • Must be proficient in Costpoint or other accounting system.
