SUMMARY

Performs programming for CNC machines and manufacturing automation, using the current programming software.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform programming for current CNC Machining operations.
• Support online programming, machine/process evaluation, process parameter or program tuning, and other technical support of CNC Machines as needed.
• Identify candidate parts for CNC Machinining to improve efficiency and capacity.
• Familiarity with viewing and modifying CAD models/files used for part programming.
• Use and import of DXF files for machine program creation.
• Experience with manufacturing automation is desired – including laser cutting systems, brake presses, tube bending machines.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Five years’ experience in CNC Machining operation and programming or combination of training and hands-on experience. CAD, Solidworks, or PRO E experience can be an equivalent for up to 2 years of experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to use calculator and apply trigonometry to problems.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Other Qualifications

Requires a knowledge of tooling and fixturing involved in the CNC machining process.
