The Program Services Coach effectively collaborates with others to achieve positive outcomes and demonstrates a commitment to Programs. The Coach will assist, support, and work closely with other team members in providing educational benefits for residents as well as providing assistance to tasks including, but not limited to STEM, non-instructional tasks and pre-vocational tasks. Performs duties to provide a teaching environment to improve and develop the residents’ self-care, physical, social, communication, and intellectual skills. Responsible for training and transporting residents to and from their daily activities.

Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Associates degree in Vocational Education, Special Education or related field preferred. Previous teaching experience preferred. Must have reliable transportation, valid Oklahoma driver’s license, auto insurance as required by the State of Oklahoma, must pass OSBI background check, and no prior listing on the Oklahoma Community Registry. Must utilize good communication skills, be able to follow verbal and written instructions safely, accurately, and efficiently, and be a team player. Must have strong technology skills.

Will complete, at the Center of Family Love’s expense, all state mandated training within the timeframes specified. Knowledge of Section 14c Department of Labor regulations preferred.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for administering center-based and pre-vocational programs. Communicates regularly with Director of Programs and Programs team to ensure coordination and consistency in service delivery.

2. Develops and nurtures interests and natural talents of each resident. Identifies and utilizes specialized materials, equipment, and assistive technology for clients that meet their individual needs.

3. Implements effective researched-supported instructional strategies for teaching basic sequences of skills in the pre-vocational and Programs area, including techniques for modifying instructional methods and curriculum materials to meet individual needs and skill levels.

4. Has a working knowledge of the impact that varying levels of language disorders, processing deficits, intellectual levels, behavioral/emotional/social disorders, and physical (including sensory) disabilities have on an individual’s learning, behavior, and ability.

5. Responsible for developing and supervising various curriculum, including STEM. Facilitates group and independent hands-on learning, provides learning materials, and reinforces skill building based on individual interests and abilities.

6. Encourages individual progress by building valuable relationships with the residents, working with them to identify their specific skill sets and matching them appropriately with center based programs.

7. Understands the aspects of schedules,routines, and transitions that promote healthy development and learning unique to our population. Helps residents get to and from programming to ensure these are followed.

8. Actively seeks out and implements educational opportunities that involve community engagement and inclusion.

9. Records and maintains accurate documentation including participation, contracts, progress and time-studies. Assesses and reports on Program progress to Director of Programs monthly.

10. Protect the privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the residents, CFL staff, facility information and records.

11. Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Center of Family Love’s values of teamwork, respect, integrity, compassion and kindness.
