Job Overview

The Program Manager, Water Stewardship Services, is responsible for ensuring the successful operation and profitability of the water services programs, inclusive of WAVE and Water Stewardship. Areas of responsibility include program operations, financial management, program quality, sales and new business development, auditing, and staff management. The position reports to the Vice President of ECS.

Roles and Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Forecast program revenue and profitability on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Establish program budget, approve program costs and expenses
  • Negotiate contract terms and establish pricing structure
  • Allocate resources to maximize program profitability
  • Oversee program profitability and meet net-profitability goals
  • Oversee program-specific pricing strategies, contracts, and agreements
  • Negotiate contractor pricing globally

Accreditation Management

  • Maintain current and thorough understanding of relevant accreditation standards
  • Act as a point of contact for accreditation requests and communications, including comments on draft normative documents
  • Oversee external audit process for division in collaboration with program managers and ensure nonconformities are closed
  • Oversee program complaints procedure and investigations involving accreditation bodies
  • Ensure program procedures and documents comply with current accreditation standards Auditing
  • Complete program training requirements in order to conduct AWS audits

Program Quality

  • Ensure program compliance with corporate quality system
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of standards
  • Manage the internal audit process
  • Oversee investigation of complaints involving accreditation body
  • Adhere to and enforce all quality and code of conduct standards
  • Align program with other independent industry governing standards domestically and internationally

Sales and Marketing

  • Planning, Development, and Reporting
  • Collaborate with the divisional sales team; develop and execute an effective sales strategy, including a strong component of outbound sales
  • Prepare quarterly sales forecast and establish sales goals
  • Collect data on new sales pipeline to report during weekly sales meetings
  • Identify and generate new business opportunities
  • Maintain and share current knowledge of market competition and industry trends
  • Conduct internet research and develop industry contacts through networking
  • Generate and maintain sales pipeline by cold calling, responding to inquiries, referrals, and internet leads
  • Scope and prepare proposals for new projects
  • Represent program and promote services at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
  • Implement and enforce workflow processes to streamline operations
  • Develop and document procedures to ensure efficient program operations
  • Develop work instructions, internal guidance, and staff training material
  • Meet sales targets
  • Prequalify sales leads and maintain status of all new business opportunities in CRM database
  • Generate proposals and professional service agreements for new clients
  • Negotiate prices and terms of sale, along with the client services/account management team
  • Maintain client records

Operations Management

  • Effectively promote programs and services to prospective clients and existing clients
  • Recommend bundled services to current and potential clients based on analysis of client needs and applicability of program offerings
  • Lead outreach at tradeshows, industry meetings and events, and other activities as determined by outbound sales strategy, over time to include speaking engagements
  • Development and refinement of marketing content
  • Identify and anticipate needs related to additional collateral, website resources, and client support packets
  • Close new business to achieve established goals for new sales
  • Enter and maintain client information on SUGAR database and server per program protocols.
  • Work with support staff to develop work orders and change orders as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Business, Marketing, or a related major
  • 7+ years of professional experience in the water-related services
  • Proven ability to write articles and give public presentations on technical subjects
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently
  • Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and database management
  • Strong customer service and teamwork orientation
  • Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment

Physical Requirements

This is an office-based job. Sit 6+ hours per day. Keyboarding 6+ hours per day. Must be able to speak and listen in person and via phone or online video conference call applications.

Pay Range

$76k to $120k Annually
