JOB SUMMARY
The Program Director of Student Support is responsible for overseeing and coordinating programs and services that provide support and assistance to districts by delivering services that promote student academic success and personal development. The program director works closely with their team to identify and address the needs of students and to develop and implement initiatives that help them achieve their goals. To be successful in this role, candidates should have experience developing and managing programs and services, as well as experience analyzing and using data to inform decision-making.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in school counseling, educational leadership, psychology or student affairs [official transcripts required upon hire];
  • 10+ years of experience related to leadership and program mental health related services
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorate degree in school psychology, behavioral health, or student affairs;
  • Recent school central office administration experience.

  • Develop and maintain programs and services that support academic and personal development of students; Collaborate with districts to identify and address the needs of students, particularly those who may be at risk of not completing their studies; Design and implement strategies to increase student retention, engagement and success;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as community organizations, to enhance the resources available to students;
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of student support programs and services to inform future planning; Direct development of long-range goals and objectives related to school based mental health implementation, sociological development and multi-tiered systems of support;
  • Coordinate writing of federally required implementation plans; Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; Prepare grants agenda for agency funding pursuits;
  • Provide and present data and information to legislature; Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Department of Education’s Principles of Effectiveness and Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services’ (ODMHSAS) standards/framework for prevention;
  • Assist and consult on fiscal planning, management and accounting tasks as required to utilize all state and federal funds administered through student support in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations;
  • Reliable, dependable, and punctual attendance;
  • Remain knowledgeable of current trends, best practices, and research in education and school based mental health, preventions services and student affairs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisors are responsible for overseeing and managing a team of employees to ensure they perform their duties effectively and efficiently. Overall, a supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the success of their team and the organization as a whole. They must possess strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage resources effectively and resolve conflicts.
The key responsibilities include:
  • Managing and leading the team: Supervisors are responsible for creating a positive work environment for their team members. They must lead by example and motivate their team to achieve their goals.
  • Assigning tasks: Supervisors must assign tasks to team members based on their skills and capabilities. They must ensure that workloads are balanced and that everyone has enough work to do.
  • Monitoring performance: Supervisors must monitor the performance of their team members and provide feedback to help them improve. They should recognize and reward good performance and address any issues promptly.
  • Providing training and development: Supervisors must provide training and development opportunities to their team members to help them acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • Ensuring compliance: Supervisors must ensure that their team members comply with company policies and procedures, as well as local and federal laws and regulations.
  • Managing resources: Supervisors must manage the resources available to their team, such as equipment, materials, and supplies. They should ensure that resources are used effectively and efficiently.
  • Communicating with management: Supervisors must communicate with upper management to provide updates on team performance and to request resources or support when needed.
  • Resolving conflicts: Supervisors must resolve conflicts that arise within the team and between team members and other departments or stakeholders.
TRAVEL
Occasional (up to 10%) in-state/out-of-state travel may be required to conduct, facilitate and/or attend meetings and trainings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is typically performed in a climate-controlled office setting with exposure to moderate noise. While performing the duties of the job, employee is frequently required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computer and phone. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time;
  • Ability to stand, reach and bend 50% of the time;
  • Operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine/printer, office telephone 75% of the time;
  • Ascends/descends stairs 25% of the time;
  • Communicates with others accurately and effectively 100%;
  • Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis;
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check;
  • Must possess a US drivers’ license to perform necessary job-related travel.
