EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Dental School, (Internship), and Residence. Experience working as a Dental Program Director desired, experience working as a faculty in a Dental Residency Program desired.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Dental License desired, DEA Certificate, Board Certification preferred. CPR Certification from the American Heart Association.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Works with the Associate Designated Institutional Officer and the Director of Oral Health Services in the development and supervision of the AEGD Program,
  • Provides direct supervision and mentorship of AEGD Residents in both the clinical and didactic components of the program.
  • Collaborates with Director of Oral Health Services, all clinical site directors and Dentists ensuring proper function of all AEGD Resident Clinical Activities.
  • Designs and maintains quality/performance standards for patient care and development of operational and financial goals.
  • Participates in faculty meetings and designated hospital activities required of all fulltime faculty members
  • Maintains current Dental skills and practicing dentistry in accordance with CHI’s policies and procedures.
  • Assists in identifying solutions to local access to healthcare needs and coordinating community/regional outreach and health promotion programs.
  • Support the efforts of the Associate Designated Institutional Officer in developing an academic strategic plan and assists in operationalizing the plan.
  • Meets with Residents and/or coordinates the morning report, to discuss cases, goals, questions, etc.
  • Prepares and coordinates lectures.
  • Supervises (directly and indirectly) Residents clinical activities.
  • Assists in the development of the curriculum for Resident education.
  • Must be available for on-call issues, as required.
  • Provide and maintain a reliable schedule of office hours for advising, consultation, etc.
  • Attend AEGD committee meetings, on a monthly basis, and/or otherwise scheduled.
  • Ensures compliance with AEGD’s Basic Documents and Specialty Standards for Postdoctoral Training Programs.
  • Organize and implement a high-quality Resident Education Program at CHI, as per AEGD & CODA Guidelines.
  • Ensures the completion of all evaluations, quarterly meetings and requirements of the program.
  • Attend an AEGD & CODA conference annually for educational faculty development, as required.
  • Provide timely review, signing and follow-up of reports for filing.
  • Score high on Patient Satisfaction Survey.
  • Participate in organizational activities (i.e. Health Fairs).
  • Must attend at least four (4) Grand Rounds each year.
  • Maintains monthly productivity standards.
  • Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism.
  • Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations.
  • Provides comprehensive Dental care to a panel of patients, as required.
  • Participates in CHI’s Journey to Excellence.
  • Must complete and pass EHR Training.
  • Complete charts according to CHI policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
