SALARY RANGE: $44,000-$48,000

Help one more child spend one less day alone. This employment opportunity is for a full-time position of dedication, service, caring and compassion, for helping at-risk youth, and leading our HALO family of young women, living in our independent residential facility in Jefferson City, MO. This position requires providing support and guidance to both the parenting and non-parenting residents who live in the home. This position reports to the Girls Home Manager. Responsibilities of the Senior Youth Advocate position include:

HALO Jefferson City Housing Program

1. Senior Youth Advocate Role:

  • Support relationships between youth and their families
  • Support youth with lifetime relationships
  • Lead on Treatment Planning for youth.
  • Assist clients as needed, such as: drive clients to school, or Dr. appointments on an as needed basis.
  • Conduct a weekly meal and meeting for all of the housing clients and organize Life Skill workshops to take place during the Thursday weekly meeting

2. Leadership Role:

  • Manage shift teams, including Youth Advocates, Interns, and Volunteers
  • Lead and guide each shift ensuring all daily goals are met for home and residents
  • Set daily goals with direction from Program Manager
  • Assure all daily notes are entered into Apricot and communicated on Slack
  • Participate in daily programs
  • Provide direction during crisis
  • Host Home Tours and Volunteer Trainings as needed
  • Attend fundraisers with HALO Team
  • Greet donors, represent HALO
  • Meet with HALO partner agencies as needed

3. Case Management Role:

  • Oversees youth cases through the entirety of the program, from determining eligibility , lead on all Treatment Plans for youth, to safe and appropriate discharge from the program.
  • Meet weekly with each youth and Youth Advocates to work on their progress on the programs Focus Areas: Daily Living, Self Care, Relationships & Communication, Housing & Money Management, Career & Education, and Permanency
  • When a new client enters the program, the Senior Youth Advocate will set up an initial meeting where client goals are established for the youth via Treatment Planning.
  • The Senior Youth Advocate and client will then meet weekly to strategize how the client can begin to accomplish those goals and document progress. The Senior Youth Advocate will also guide the client through completing phases of the program, thus ensuring the client is transitioning well through the program.
  • The Senior Youth Advocate will keep reports on each clients progress and enter those reports into youth tracking software on a monthly basis. Keep resident files updated according to state licensing guidelines.
  • The Senior Youth Advocate will meet weekly with the Program Manager to provide updates on each clients progress throughout the program.

4. Upholding Policies:

  • The Senior Youth Advocate will ensure that all Housing Clients and their dependents are safe and compliant to all policies outlined in the handbook.
  • Should a client break any rule(s) or an emergency situation occurs, the Senior Youth Advocate will make the proper report and take the proper steps outlined in the Policy Handbook

Qualifications

Requirements for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, education, counseling or other human services field from an accredited college OR a bachelor’s degree in social work or a human service area or study from an accredited school plus (2) years’ experience in residential treatment for children and youth services.
  • Strong organizational skills, relationship building, teamwork and social skills for working with residents and community members is required.
  • Must be a responsible, mature individual of reputable character who exercise sound judgment, and displays the capacity to provide good care and supervision of youth
  • Prior experience in counseling, or working with at-risk youth is preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, Class E license within 30 days.
  • Background clearance
  • Med-Tech certification within 30 days.
  • Ability to manage a household and a budget.
  • Positive attitude, high energy and a role model for health and wellness in the home.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Experience supporting the needs of behaviorally complex youth with a history ofmental, emotional, or physical trauma is preferred, but not required (training will beprovided).
  • Perform casework, group work tasks, or planning of services for our residents
  • Goal orientated and ability to implement processes with little or no supervision.

Pay: $44,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
