Overview:
The Program Coordinator II will report directly to the Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Sciences’ Department Head. This individual will train and direct hourly/student employees, graduate students, and volunteers. Responsibilities:

The Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Sciences at Utah State University is seeking a Program Coordinator for the (SNAC) pantry. This position will serve the USU Student Nutrition Access Center (SNAC) pantry, established in 2013. The SNAC pantry has experienced tremendous growth since its inception, with student visitation increasing from 44 visits to over 10,000 visits/online orders annually. The SNAC pantry resides within the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Sciences. This position will oversee all aspects of the SNAC pantry, from personnel management and sourcing donations to high level budget planning.
The Program Coordinator II will report directly to the Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Sciences’ Department Head. This individual will train and direct hourly/student employees, graduate students, and volunteers.
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the SNAC Pantry
- Maintain SNAC schedule
- Coordinate Pantry pick-ups from Cache Community Food Pantry
- Schedule Utah Food Bank deliveries
- Manage and train student volunteers, work-study students, AmeriCorps members, interns, practicum students
- Maintain online pantry record system
- Submit orders for pantry stocking and supplies
- Oversee budget, including commodity purchasing and new equipment purchases
- Direct student feedback survey efforts, evaluation of services each semester
- Direct physical improvements of the pantry space
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community partners and businesses
- Assist with AggieFunded campaigns and other grant writing and fundraising efforts
- Oversee on-campus promotion and awareness campaigns
- Assisting with the implementation of university-approved research projects evaluating effects of SNAC on student food security levels
- Work with other campus-based departments and divisions for promotion and program development
- Develop a Basic Needs resource and referral program in collaboration with Student Money Management Center, CAPS, Student Hardship Fund, married student and family housing
- Expand SNAC programming to include educational offerings for entire student body
- Present work at annual conferences such as the Utah Higher Education Food Summit
- Communicate with the gleaning program to receive produce
- Maintain and update SNAC policy manual, cash handling manual, and food safety procedures
- Run reports for outreach, ethnicity, and class level statistics
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of relevant work experience; or a master’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- One-year related experience with food security and distribution programs.
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience in the Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze, and make decisions related to program content.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
