WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER


The Development Program Associate will work as part of a fundraising team within the Georgia program under the Development Operations Manager. The Specialist will be responsible for providing resources such as gift processing and acknowledgement, administrative support, donor research and outreach, stewardship, etc.


The Development Program Associate will work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the team by implementing tactics for approved plans and completing and organizing varied tasks and activities. They will have substantial contact with internal stakeholders and may assist out-the-door fundraisers with donor outreach. The Associate will perform an independent analysis of key program data, which may include donor or gift information. They will work in close cooperation with any or all of the following: TNC staff, donors, trustees, partners, vendors, and marketing, legal and accounting professionals. They may be asked to take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team that may require travel and working flexible hours. The work environment may involve infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

Responsibilities:

  • Gift processing and pledge entry in compliance with TNC policies and procedures and external (donor/legal/IRS) requirements
  • Sending acknowledgment letters, pledge reminders, and donor communications
  • Administrative duties include, but are not limited to, note-taking, deadline management, team meetings scheduling, board/committee meetings support, etc.
  • Financial responsibility includes working within a budget, processing invoices and transfers, and contracting with vendors
  • Perform donor research and maintain donor records in compliance with the requirements
  • Support out-the-door fundraisers in report and grant writing
  • Collaborate with Finance and Conservation staff

Training will be provided.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination
  • Strong organization skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Experience with spreadsheet software, including managing and tracking data
  • Experience managing financial and highly sensitive information
  • Experience building relationships with staff, customers or similar
  • Experience generating reports and interpreting data
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading
  • Valid Driver’s License

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to work under pressure and perform repetitive data entry tasks
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising
  • Experience working with databases
  • Ability to implement processes and strategic program goals
  • Experience working across teams
  • Ability to analyze information for the purpose of coordinating and planning activities and solving problems
  • Experience interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience are appreciated
