Position Highlights
The RISE (Recovery thru Integration, Support & Empowerment) Program Assistant serves to foster a warm, welcoming, inclusive experience for program participants, members of the public, and members of the Camp Wellness and Workforce Development Program team. The RISE Health & Wellness Center and Workforce Development Program exists to implement strengths-based, recovery-oriented community programs to help individuals with serious mental illnesses, substance use, and other mental and physical health conditions to improve their health and wellness and reach their recovery goals, performing a wide variety of tasks to support implementation of multiple programs.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide warm greetings, and customer service and support via electronic, telephonic, and in-person contact to community outreach program participants, service providers, and members of the public.
  • Complete prescreening inquiries regarding outreach programs and directing to applicable resources.
  • Gather preliminary data and perform eligibility screenings for potential program participants.
  • Schedule intake assessments, renewal assessments, meetings, and presentations.
  • Coordinate referral processes, including:
  • contacting program participants and referring agencies to complete referral and admission process
  • tracking program referrals
  • following up with referring agencies on missing documentation
  • organizing and maintaining manual and electronic filing systems
  • scheduling renewal assessments
  • submitting monthly summaries and completion summaries
  • processing medical record requests
  • Work within protocols to maintain a clean, safe learning environment, including:
  • performing opening and closing procedures to ensure lobby, classroom, and main grounds are inviting and meet safety guidelines (straightening grounds, lobby, common areas, wiping down surfaces, ensuring clear paths to exits, etc)
  • assisting with coordination of care during medical emergencies (calling 911, directing EMS staff to location, etc.)
  • restocking supplies
  • supporting instructional staff with class preparation and post-class cleanup (including arranging classrooms, printing materials, operating computer and projector, shutting down equipment, cleaning dishware, storing supplies, etc.)
  • prioritizing workload to meet operational needs
  • Participate in outreach recruitment and marketing activities, including:
  • tracking referral sources on incoming calls
  • identifying outreach recruitment opportunities
  • preparing, organizing, and loading and restocking materials
  • performing outreach recruitment at Arizona Palooza and other community events
  • establishing and developing relationships with community organizations and potential sources of referrals
  • Provide basic administrative support to implement program initiatives including:
  • organizing and filing documents
  • recording and entering meeting notes, preparing and delivering verbal and written summaries
  • performing data entry
  • writing and submitting deliverable reports
  • assisting with audit preparations, credentialing processes, and submissions for renewals
  • completing additional assigned tasks related to program implementation

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.

  • Ability to focus in a busy lobby environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and web-based applications.
  • Knowledge related to providing administrative and programmatic support.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
