Leading metals manufacturing company is seeking to fill entry-level production worker positions at its plant in the Lebanon, VA area.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

HS/GED Preferred

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess dependability to be consistently at work and on time with the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include all shifts
• Possess basic reading and math skills including knowledge of fractions and decimals
• Possess basic measuring skills using tape measure and micrometers
• Possess fundamental listening, verbal, written communication skills
• Possess ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines throughout production processes
• Possess a "Team Member" mentality with quality assurance mindset
• Possess repetitive standing, bending capability; near/far vision, manual dexterity, multiple limb coordination with moderate lifting capability (up to 65lbs).

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Perform daily inspection of work area to check for safety hazards.
• Perform operator actions at a training-level capacity under the direction of a mentor employee as assigned by supervisory personnel following standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
• Perform various general labor duties as assigned daily by supervisory personnel per standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
• Perform work station and surrounding area housekeeping duties as required.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform any other related general labor duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work performance is conducted in conveyor belt manufacturing plant that contains heavy production machinery and job-specific equipment and tools.
• Safety training, written procedures, and continual improvement measures are implemented to eliminate or control any physical/environmental hazards that may be present in the work place.
• Employee use of personal protective equipment is enforced for all phases of job performance to prevent bodily injury.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Job performance demands constant application of the following physical requirements: use of hands, manual dexterity.
• Job performance demands frequent application of the following physical requirements: lifting (up to 65 lbs.), carrying, standing, reaching, twisting, fine manipulation, near/;far vision, multiple limb coordination.
• Job performance demands occasional application of the following physical requirements: walking, sitting, overhead, reach/lift, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, balancing, close visual acuity, total visual field upper limb coordination.
