In the key role you will:

• Supervise production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

• Train and coach production line employees.

• Conduct employee performance reviews.

• Responsible for shift schedule to include: workstation assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations.

• Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.

• Start each day with a smile and positive attitude & keep that going all day!!

• Support process improvement activities - we want your ideas!!

• Consult with Human Resources as appropriate.

• Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers.

• Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels.

• Schedule and conduct shift meetings.

• Responsible to meet shift production goals.

• Work with QA Dept. to ensure products are being made to customer specifications.

• Ensures compliance with SQF level code of practice and HACCP regulations and programs.

• Responsible for quality control. Adjust as necessary during the shift to produce products within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications.

• Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis(JSAs).

• Communicate with other Shift Supervisors

• Motivate the Team with good jokes!

• Bring Value to Everything You Do Each Day!

• Ensure a clean and safe work area.

• Assure shift paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate.

• Assist in production as necessary.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery - two to five years of manufacturing experience.

• Demonstrate full knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices policies and procedures.

• Demonstrate knowledge of safety in a manufacturing environment

• Ability to work well with changing priorities and situations.

• Must be a creative and flexible leader.

• Computer proficient (Word, Excel, E-mail).

• Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes, and principles is required.

• Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.

• Knowledge of Lean practices and continuous improvement initiatives a plus

• Proven Critical Thinking and problem-solving skills

• Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery and computers.

• Ability to stand, reach, lift, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull lift up to 50 pounds

You should be proficient in:

• ISO 9001 Certification Experience
• Scheduling Experience
• High-level Operations Analysis
• Recruiting and Training Experience
• Budgeting / Forecasting Experience
• AS9100 Experience

Salary info:

$31.25 - $36.06 / hr
