Your Toolbox

  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Sewing skills - 1 year industrial sewing skills or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Part of the team – nothing is below you; you are able and willing to do any job your team is doing and steps in to help and train as needed.
  • Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish) is a plus, but not required.

Your Position

As part of our Welch team, you are primarily responsible for working with the Welch production team to produce Welch branded and private label suspenders per customer demands.

Your core duties and responsibilities include the following:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Production Associate performs a diverse set of operations in the production of Welch Suspenders to prescribed quality and production standards, and in accordance with company quality and safety standards. The Production Associate will manufacture workwear products by performing repetitive short cycle task/movements. May use hand and power tools, small to large machinery, mechanical fixtures and test equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Good hand/eye coordination & manual dexterity with ability to use hand tools, electric and pneumatic power tools and machines, and in-house developed product-specific tooling/fixtures.
  • Must be able to comfortable performing repetitive work operations.
  • Ability to follow instructions and take direction. Must be able to work from visual aids, drawings/ diagrams, ISO work instruction and other instructive documentation.
  • Ability to offer informed suggestions to improve processes.
  • Responsible for basic machine set-ups, adjustments, and monitoring of equipment. Notifies Maintenance of any equipment malfunctions.
  • Meet or exceed group production goals as part of small production team.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel if product or process is out of compliance.
  • Rotates between operations within work area as well as between work areas and departments. Assists in maintaining work area and/or department records.
  • Consults production tickets for specific work instructions related to that lot.
  • Adheres to Company two-pass quality system which requires the employee to inspect incoming work prior to performing any work on it and inspect completed work prior to passing it on to the next operation.
  • Assists in training co-workers as required.
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Works shift work schedule and overtime as assigned.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
  • Must be able to perform all physical and mental requirements described.
  • Within a diverse work environment, must respect individual differences and utilize the diverse thinking and contributions of all team members.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Cross-train and be able to perform multiple tasks at production sewing, cutting, or packing stations.
  • Maintain neat, tidy, and clean work area.
  • Communicate effectively with managers and co-workers.
  • Display consistent and reliable attendance habits.
  • Rotate between operations within work area as well as between work areas and departments. Assists in maintaining work area and/or department records.
  • Maintain quality standards as per agreed for all components and final product.

  • Workstations are spaced minimum 6 feet apart
  • Full compliance with all State and Federal regulations
  • In the event of a positive test, we will close operations for minimum 48 hours, professionally sanitize the entire workplace, and require negative tests before returning to work (at Kinco’s expense).
