Production Assistant

Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Technical Director, the Production Assistant creates elements that enhance worship experience. This position deals with a diverse group of employees with varying degrees of technical knowledge focusing on content creation. Must be able to communicate with this broad range of users. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload. Works independently and within a team to respond to the technical and creative needs.

Essential Functions

• Create content that supports the worship services, sermons, and special events that brings people closer to Christ and deepens their faith. Some of that content will be originally sourced and some will be given directly from the pastoral staff.
• Creatively prepare on screen content for weekly services.
• Record and edit podcasts for various ministries.
• Operate, maintain, and install of a wide range of technologies across the campus - lights, sound, video, computers, cameras, etc.
• Be able to independently conceptualize, storyboard, create, and edit mixed-media creative projects to be used for church-wide experiences including weekend services, special events, and ministry opportunities.
• Support the ministry growth of the departments of the church through the creation of content, technical support for equipment, and training of staff and volunteers.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas, support and feedback.
• Office hours will be set but are flexible around morning/evening events or other extra church activities.
• The employee must have a heart for SAMC as well as support the vision of SAMC while being a be a team player.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Has intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge in video, lighting, and audio technology
• Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite as well as other media development software
• Proficient in Apple and Windows operating system
• Able to troubleshoot problems as well as produce solutions both individually and as a team
• Skilled in storyboarding and shooting/editing video
• Experience with ProPresenter 7, Planning Center, Waves, ETC Lighting Consoles and Yamaha Consoles

Physical Demands

This would require the ability to move equipment from one location to another and the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is an exempt full-time position at 36.5 hours per week. This position requires work on Sundays 8:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. and combination of workdays during the week to be determined.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in media or higher is preferred
• 2-3yrs relevant experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
