Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Product Development Technician to join our team. The Product Development Technician will be responsible for supporting our design team in the research and development of new art products. The ideal candidate should be able to manage multiple projects, work well under pressure, and have excellent organizational skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Creation of all prototypes and samples for new introduction items
• Assist the design team in researching new materials, technologies, and design trends.
• Support the development of new products from concept to production with manufacturing in mind.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and marketing.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including product specifications, design drawings, and project schedules for mass production.
• Manage resources wisely.
• Assist with creating presentations and reports to communicate project status and design recommendations.
• Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and assess competition.
• Participate in user research studies to gather feedback on new product concepts.
• Provide design support for ongoing projects as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to work in a fast paced and time sensitive environment.
• Strong project management skills
• 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks or Rhino is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
• Familiarity with design research methods, including user research and trend analysis.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.

Education and Experience:

• Experience in Industrial Design, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in product design and development
• Familiarity of fundamentals of R&D project phases: planning, research, development, testing, marketing, sourcing, value/reverse engineering, and product release
• CNC, Router, laser, electrical 3D, fabrication, prototyping a plus
• Sign shop experience is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
