Good Harvest Market, Waukesha County's largest independently owned natural grocer, is currently seeking to hire both part and full-time Produce Stocker/Clerks.

For our full-time opportunity, early availability is a must, as this position starts at 6am or 7am in order to get stock out on our floor before the store opens at 8am (9am on Sundays). While most of the hours for our full-time stocker will be early daytime shifts, some evening availability will be required as well. There will be potential for advancement available with this role, as eventually we will be posting for an Assistant Produce Manager, and we prefer to promote from within whenever possible.

For our part-time opportunity we require more evening availability, as this role will most often be closing the department. The latest we close is 8pm.

This is a physically demanding position that is tasked with stocking large loads of incoming produce inventory. The ideal candidate for this role can handle and enjoys physical labor and can frequently lift up to 70 lbs.

Our produce department features only certified organic produce, sourced locally whenever possible. We focus on artful displays of seasonal produce and intensive customer service.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Stocking (including washing, bundling and trimming), rotating, merchandising and facing product according to department procedure and management expectation.
• Properly maintains produce wet rack.
• Maintains knowledge of produce, with an emphasis on organic production, and provides information to customers regarding use and preparation.
• Maintain sample product on floor (rotate, maintain, and dispose of as needed).
• Disposes of culls according to department procedure.
• Maintains back-stock areas according to department standards.
• Properly closing the department as directed.

Qualifications:

• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Minimum one year prior produce stocking experience preferred.
• Must be available evenings and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to stand for 4+ hours at a time.
• Strong work ethic.

Environmental/Physical Conditions

• Constant walking, reaching, and bending,
• Frequent squatting, climbing, and lifting.
• Temperatures of environment will vary. (working walk-in and reach-in refrigeration units for extended time periods, unloading pallets outdoors in cold/hot/rainy/snowy weather)
