Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Performance Excellence, the Process Improvement Specialist will have oversight of the Corrective Action Request (CARs) and the Internal Auditing processes.
Will work on performance improvement teams to eliminate waste, improvement productivity, improve safety of patients and staff, and/or reduce overall costs. Supporting process improvement teams through the process is a key component of this position.


Core Job Responsibilities

  • Performs Internal Audits on identified high risk processes/systems.
  • Develops and distributes the Internal Auditor schedule to the trained Auditors.
  • Maintains all pertinent information regarding Internal Audits such as due dates, assigned auditor, and documentation requirements.
  • Monitors the internal audit schedule for each segment of completion, i.e. Audit Plan, Pre-Audit Meeting, actual audit date, and summary meeting
  • Maintains all Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and Concerns from Internal Audits, External Surveys by regulatory agencies and various other sources.
  • Monitors CARs database for responses and reviews for completeness for closure.
  • Provides continuing education to the Internal Auditors.
  • Responsible for providing support and coordination on various projects and activities related to the performance management process.
  • Guide front-line Process Action Teams (PAT) in achieving and maintaining successful change.
  • Assist in the identification, planning, and execution of improvement projects throughout the organization
  • Train, coach and educate staff on the techniques and skills of successful project management.
  • Assist the integration of Quality/Performance Improvement activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare
  • Minimum 5 years operations/quality management experience
  • Familiar with the tools and techniques of Total Quality Management and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System – Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Internal Process Auditor
  • Healthcare background; i.e. Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy


Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare
  • Previous leadership and performance management experience with teams
  • Knowledge of Process Management Methodology (Lean/Six Sigma) and principles of Continual Quality Improvement
  • Lead Auditor experience
