Loparex LLC is the worlds largest manufacturer of extrusion base and silicone coated release liners for the converting industry. We have manufacturing operations throughout the U.S., Europe, China, and India. We are currently looking for a Process Engineer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for total process optimization for the Blown Films lines at our Malvern, PA manufacturing facility. This will include recommendations regarding successful startup and implementation of new or modified equipment, statistical analysis of quality test data and the corresponding production/process data, and design of experiments. This position will also work with machine controls, monitoring devices, establishing operating procedures, as well as maintaining quality/process support systems.

Qualifying candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Polymer, or Mechanical Engineering, and 2 to 4 years of previous experience to meet the job expectations, a strong background and interest in statistical qualify control and database management, experience with six sigma/lean manufacturing techniques, and team concept training. Knowledge of film, web handling, extrusion laminating and/or Blown Extrusion is highly preferred.

JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Plastics, or Polymer Technology or in a related field preferred with 2-5 years related experience in a technical position in release liner manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.

Experienced in Design of Experiments to optimize Quality and Productivity.

Hands on working knowledge of blown film extrusion. Experience with release film, silicone coating, and slitting operations is preferred.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Liaison between Operations, Quality, Plant Technology, as well as Loparex's R&D to ensure optimal quality and productivity are being met on Malvern process lines.

• Support the development of applicable Operator training processes and documentation and ensure all Job Instructions, Recipes, and Processes are followed in the operation for each Product.

• Work with Quality and Operations to establish Machine Process Capabilities by Product on an ongoing basis in order to optimize efficiency, productivity, and product quality.

• Support the Quality, Application Technology and the Commercial Team to establish appropriate Internal and External (Customer) Product Specifications that fall within established machine capabilities.

• Responsible for the Planning, Communication, Setup and Preparation, Execution, Testing, and Follow-up Reporting on new trials.

• Work with Quality and Plant Technology to investigate and resolve Customer concerns or complaints and support the implementation of any needed Root Cause and Corrective Action analysis.

• Investigate and evaluate new technologies, equipment, and raw materials.

• Statistical analysis including Process Capability (Ppk, Cpk etc..) and data trend analysis.

• Knowledge of MiniTab software.

• Continuous improvement implementation and sustainability; Lean or Six Sigma certification a plus.

• Extensive knowledge of safe workplace practices, standard operating procedures and conditions.
