In this role, you will:

  • Build an assertive, proactive, results-oriented team that is passionate about winning through teamwork. Maximize team member effectiveness by providing ongoing coaching and feedback and creating opportunities for growth and development.

  • Flow to work as part of the Supply Chain Team and be able to support converting and manufacturing activities across all of Family Care.

  • Provide technical leadership of sector wide initiatives that improve Supply Chain OEE. Drive the development and execution of the OEE plans for assets. Coordinate and lead targeted onsite action plans. Provide hands-on assistance to onsite teams. Significant presence at Family Care mills is expected.

  • Support and implement strategy deployment process for capacity and capability liberation supporting the Family Care OEE Strategy, Supply Chain Priority Initiatives, and Cost Transformation requirements.

  • Manage and own TM standardization efforts (i.e. create modification by line spreadsheet, improve PID/P&ID loop health, use ERRs to prove causality & dependency, et al).

  • Collaborate with mill teams to set annual Glidepaths for Tissue Machines. Support mill teams in Glidepath develop and changes. Final decision in the approval / denial process.

  • Pull MIDAS data for Platform Leads and Sector Modelling.

  • Effectively collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes R&E, Supply Chain, mill operations, procurement, equipment suppliers and external service providers. Partner with mill teams keeping a customer focused mindset.

  • Assist with team objective setting and performance feedback for the other engineers on the team. In this role you will have four to six direct reports.

  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members to increase technical understanding and ability to execute programs to improve Family Care's business results.

  • Maintain technical and scientific expertise in the areas of industrial software, drives, and controls. Be able to communicate impact of developments on Kimberly Clark processes.

  • Assist with scheduling and planning team member’s travel schedule. Coordinate with mills and staff as needed.

  • Implement the documentation and report of unit work as required by KC policy, effective communication, protection of proprietary information, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Provide leadership by example in corporate safety, quality, regulatory, product safety and sustainability.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or relevant discipline (e.g. Science or Engineering related) and 10 years or more of related experience

  • Technical experience in both mill and staff environments

  • Direct experience with UCTAD, C-TEC, and LDC manufacturing technologies/platforms strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to establish strong, effective cross-functional network at enterprise level

  • Subject matter expertise in tissue machine operation and optimization.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach SME and SMS personnel

  • Strong fundamentals in engineering systems and tools in order to drive technical innovation

  • Ability to lead and direct a technical team and projects that successfully meet business objectives. Previous people leader experience preferred.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes R&E, Supply Chain, mill operations, procurement, equipment suppliers and external service providers

  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong, effective cross-functional networks at enterprise level.

  • Subject matter expertise in process engineering data analytical software (Excel, PI, Plant Applications, MIDAS, SEEQ, JMP).

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage strong fundamentals in engineering systems and tools in order to drive technical innovation.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Willing to travel up to 50%
