Position Purpose:
Management and maintenance of process control systems at multiple Stericycle incinerator facilities, supporting design, development, programming, and on-call support for troubleshooting and maintenance of all process control systems. Assist with development and implementation of major plant maintenance and capital projects related to process control and electrical systems.
Key Job Activities:
- Manage and provide support for multiple facilities with process control related maintenance and production management activities through technical troubleshooting and problem solving
- Design, maintain and continuously improve plant process control systems, plant production network, and data collection systems
- Assist with development and implementation of major plant maintenance and capital projects as it relates to process control and electrical systems
- Manage preventative maintenance, repair, and power loading conditions on the facility’s power distribution systems
- Maintain a comprehensive and current library of process control and related programs
- Monitor and maintain compliance in accordance with OSHA and NEC safety requirements
- Support plant maintenance technicians and assist in developing the electrical/controls skills of maintenance technicians
- After hours on-call support
- Ability to work under pressure to solve problems
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
Education:
Experience:
- Bachelor’s in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in process controls
- Hands-on experience with Programmable Controllers
o Allen-Bradley SLC 5xx
- Expertise in the following software packages
o Rockwell Logix500
- Understanding of design, layout and use of fieldbus networks
- Understanding and working knowledge of P&ID drawings, process flow diagrams, electrical schematics, including generations of drawings as needed
- Experience in writing descriptions of operations and development of controls based physical layouts
- Experience with VFD specification, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Expertise in electrical hardware identification, wiring methods and tracing, use of a multimeter for troubleshooting circuits, hardware, and instrumentation
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
- Electrical/Hardware specification, design, and implementation experience
- Hands-on experience with Human Machine Interface programming
- Capability to develop and/or follow a project plan knowing the importance of setting and meeting milestone dates
- Expertise in the following software packages
o Rockwell PanelBuilder32
o Inductive Automation Ignition
- Experience/Expertise with
o PID loop controls and tuning
o Electrical codes and standards
