Nestle USA is looking for an enthusiastic data privacy specialist to assist the on privacy, data retention, and data security incident response. Serving as the Data Privacy Champion for NUSA, this candidate will be responsible for understanding the main data flows between Nestlé entities and our third party vendors, enhancing and maintaining the OneTrust data map, raising awareness of data privacy requirements within the organization, providing or organizing data protection training for Nestlé employees and contracted staff, handling any privacy queries, requests or complaints, and other responsibilities as needed to support the legal and compliance function.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Privacy program:
  • Help implement new technical changes to privacy program as required by changing US laws and regulations.
  • Project manage work with consultants to build privacy management capabilities.
  • Assist in preparations for updates to senior management on data protection issues and risks, and/or progress on data protection initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other business areas within the relevant Nestlé entities to ensure they are aware of any risks or initiatives.
  • Stay informed with industry trends, best practices, and new innovative solutions as it relates to data privacy and governance.
  • Provide support to wider compliance team with compliance administrative items as needed.

Data inquires, access requests and complaints:
  • Monitor and update processes to handle data subject requests, such as access request, deletion requests, do-not-sell requests and other data rights requests as required by privacy laws.
  • Respond to personal data inquiries and complaints from employees or retail customers in a timely manner.
  • Manage process of informing third party vendors and service providers of consumer data rights requests.

Privacy impact assessments:
  • Assist business functions with the undertaking of privacy impact assessments regarding all new system, digital asset or project involving the processing of personal data.
  • Support the business in managing the mitigation of identified risks and ensure remediation activities are prioritized in accordance with the impact analysis.
  • Ensure that appropriate measures are taken to mitigate any risk identified as part of an audit.

Data security incident response team:
  • Support cross-functional data security incident response team.
  • Initiate incident response meetings as necessary, track key details, and following up with larger group regarding action items.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Critical Experiences/Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in applicable fields required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in compliance, with knowledge or eagerness to learn privacy laws (e.g. CCPA, CPRA, and VCDPA).
  • Experience or eagerness to learn OneTrust or other data mapping platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Qualifications/Certifications:
  • IAPP CIPP Certification preferred.
  • OneTrust Certifications preferred.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Paralegal experience helpful but not required.

  • Passion for working with technology, IT systems, and data collection and governance practices.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with and influence a dynamic and diverse set of stakeholders, including the ability to listen and understand differing perspectives.
  • Strategic mindset with quantitative, problem-solving, project management, and negotiation skills and a strong desire for progress and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to analyze and present findings in a clear and cohesive manner.
  • Adept at managing change and working through ambiguity to identify and drive to a solution, both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

The approximate pay range for this position is $85,000 to $115,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
