Northrop Grumman is in need of a Principal Manufacturing Analyst or Sr. Principal Manufacturing Analyst – to work in its Propulsion Systems & Controls business unit supporting the testing area. The position will be at the Elkton, Maryland facility.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for coordination between programs, operations, and the test area to ensure parts and paper are available when needed to support the production test schedule
    • Coordinate hardware handoffs between manufacturing and test area
    • Track test procedure and test arrangement drawing status
  • Responsible for purchasing instrumentation, wiring, adhesives, and other resources needed by the test area to support programs. Will be responsible for tracking purchases, receipt status, expediting items through receiving department and out to test area, and billing purchases back to the program.
  • Responsible for a variety of cross-functional activities including production planning, material management, and inventory and calibration management
  • Support day-to-day production processes in a team-based manufacturing/testing environment. Strong communication skills are required.
  • Monitor training records for the testing team and provide reports as requested
  • Support bill of material (BOM) development, issuing parts to the test area, and ensuring they have arrived. A basic understanding of engineering drawings is a plus

This position may be filled at either as a Principal Manufacturing Analyst or a Sr. Principal Manufacturing Analyst. The level to be hired will depend on education, experience, and demonstrated skills.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Manufacturing Analyst:

  • Must have 10 years of experience in lieu of degree, will consider those with a Bachelors degree plus 6 years of experience.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, engineering, testing, or production
  • Detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of CostPoint, strong understanding of IMS scheduling

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Manufacturing Analyst:

  • Must have 14 years of experience in lieu of degree, will consider those with a Bachelors degree plus 10 years of experience.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, engineering, testing, or production
  • Detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of CostPoint, strong understanding of IMS scheduling


Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $102,200 USD - $153,200 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
