Position: Teacher Aide

Requirements: Associates degree in Early Education, Current CDA credential, OR 2-5 years of consecutive experience as a Lead Teacher, AND a current first aid/CPR certification. MAT trained and daily health observation training preferred. Related work experience at least a year

Schedule: 9:00 - 6:00 with hour break (required) 12-6

Position Description:

1. Lead Teachers act as immediate supervisor to aids in the classroom, and are responsible for maintaining policies and standards in their designated classroom. This requires that leads are familiar with policies and standards. Leads will be expected to direct staff in their classroom by giving instructions and correcting the actions of their assistants. Leads will determine how tasks are divided among the assistants in the area.

2. In the absence of the administration, any Lead may be designated as the person in charge during that absence. This would entail taking charge of any emergency, as well as reporting any serious misconduct upon the return of the administration.

3. Lead Teachers are responsible for ensuring the education of the children in their age group. This means that leads are expected to be familiar with the developmental milestones of their respective class age, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective lesson planning techniques. Leads are expected to plan daily schedules, activities, and general lesson plan concepts to meet the developmental needs of the children in their care.

4. Lead Teachers are responsible for classroom management. Leads are expected to be familiar with and implement effective behavior guidance techniques, and teach appropriate social and emotional skills for their respective age groups. Leads will determine the daily routine of their class, and ensure consistency of routines among other teachers in the group.

5. Leads are expected to be able to maintain standards with the highest child-to-teacher ratio for their classroom.

6. Leads will communicate effectively with the administration. Leads will report to the administration any factors of the environment or actions of other staff that do not meet standards. Leads will communicate with the administration any areas of their job responsibilities with which they are struggling. Leads know that the administration is available to provide support and training for assistance in learning new techniques to meet the above expectations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $11.25 per hour
