At Hotel Barriere Fouquet, our restaurant is searching for creative and motivated prep/line chefs to join our talented kitchen team. In this position, you will support the Executive and Sous Chef, and Chef de Partie in our kitchen, following and enforcing their requirements and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain standards of health, safety, and personal hygiene.
  • Must be able to keep their section clean in all circumstances.
  • Must be able to clean and cut all basic vegetables, fruits, and other herbs.
  • Must be able to prepare, clean, and cut all basic seafood.
  • Must be able to prepare, clean and cut all basic meat (beef, lamb, veal, chicken, duck) for stock.
  • Must have a good knowledge of technique and safety processes using sharp knives and other electric equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate with other members of the team.
  • Must be able to ask superior for help or recommendation.
  • Must be able to graceful receive constructive criticism and carry out orders.
  • Must be able to multitask. Help with deliveries of stock and storage.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification of Food Handlers License. preferred.
  • Previous restaurant experience is preferred.
  • Physical ability to stand for an entire shift and lift 50+ pounds.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Willingness to work weekends and nights.
  • Be able to show proof of vaccination
