Job description

*Our wonderful school is adding a second Pre-K program!*

We are excited to open a new classroom and be able to have a space for children who have missed the cut off for K and are needing a more challenging environment! This will be our Transitional Pre-k room.

Mission: We are a Non-Profit Childcare and Family Center. Our mission is to encourage each child in all areas of development. We believe that every child presented with the opportunity to belong, develop independence, to cultivate generosity and to master skills will develop a healthy sense of self, which will enhance their ability to succeed academically and socially.

Our 5300 sq ft center is located at 11 South Gorham Crossing in Gorham, ME. We opened our doors on June 18, 2018 and all of our classrooms are full and we are managing full wait lists!

The 4-5 year old room has 16 students with 1 other full-time teacher. Our ideal candidate would have a Associate's Degree in a related field, and at least 1-2 years of experience teaching in a PreK or similar aged classroom.

The co-founders and acting Directors have a commitment to taking care of staff not just by providing a livable wage, but by creating an atmosphere of support and respect. We believe that teachers are an essential part of a child's development and as such we are committed to honoring them by providing a working environment that reflects the value they have in our communities.

Our center provides an Experiential Learn Model (ELM) to include an 18x24 Greenhouse and a Gardening program. Our Garden Coordinator is in the works of building our nature play area after a successful round of fundraising!! This nature play area will add so much investigation and exploration for our students!

We hope to not only encourage professional development goals, but also aim to provide opportunities for training and to support staff in following their desired career path.

As a non-profit center the revenue generated by tuition and grants will go directly back into staff wages, program development, community outreach and building maintenance.

Staff will be paid during center closings, offered a fair time off package, health and dental benefits. 2 paid vacations a year, and a 3rd of accrued PTO!
