Role Summary

The Portfolio Manager – Model Portfolios Lead will direct allocations and selection in multi-asset model portfolios within established investment policy guidelines. Reporting to the Head of Multi-Asset, Americas, s/he will lead the development of new model strategies and manage all multi-asset model portfolios as the primary PM, ensuring that they adhere to governance guidelines and regulatory/legal restrictions. S/he will guide investment mix and policy, matching investments to each strategy’s objectives. To maximize risk-adjusted returns, s/he will leverage a deep understanding of capital markets and macro-economic factors that drive the performance of various asset classes and sub-asset classes. The portfolio manager will work closely with product and distribution teams to design and launch new model strategies.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multi-asset model portfolios consisting of equity, fixed income, and alternative asset classes

  • Work closely with product and distribution to develop innovative multi-asset strategies suitable for model implementation, staying ahead of the evolving market environment and investor preferences.

  • Acquire and maintain a deep and up-to-date understanding of the models business and its eco system

  • Act as the primary voice for multi-asset models and clearly communicate investment strategies and theses for model portfolios to internal and external stakeholders

  • Enhance, adapt, and execute personal and team processes to maintain performance edge as markets evolve

How You’ll Lead:

  • Become the undisputed expert on developing and managing models within the organization and lead the growth of the DWS models business in the Americas

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in multi-asset portfolio management

  • Experience with operational requirements for running model portfolios

  • An advanced degree, CFA or progression in CFA is desirable but not necessary

  • Familiarity with statistical and other quantitative data analysis methodologies

  • Strong command of fundamental and economic analysis

  • Well-versed in risk-management methodology and practices

  • Experience with Aladdin

Expectations

It is DWS’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York City office in accordance with the firm’s hybrid working model.

DWS provides reasonable accommodations to candidates and employees with a substantiated need based on disability and/or religion.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $112,000 to $205,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
