Fast Park, Milwaukee General Mitchell Airport’s premier offsite parking facility, has a fabulous opportunity for a self-starting, energetic porter/maintenance person to keep our parking lot, shuttle buses, buildings and facilities in tip top, sparkling condition! Earn $12 - $14 per hour depending on skills and experience

Summary: Keep buildings, parking lot and shuttle buses in clean and orderly condition. Perform routine maintenance activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Detail fleet of shuttle buses inside & out
  • Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels, or spread snow melting chemicals.
  • Service, clean, or supply restrooms.
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours or checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
  • Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware or metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, or power cleaning equipment.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment.
  • Mow or trim lawns or shrubbery, using mowers or hand or power trimmers, and clear debris from grounds.
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings. Move furniture, equipment, or supplies.

Requirements

  • High School education, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • A valid state driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record required
  • Must be able to meet applicable DOT and/or state regulated requirements to operate a commercial motor vehicle
  • Successful completion of background screening and drug test
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide with 10s and 100s, perform these operations using units of American money
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the spelling and meaning of words

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May be exposed to construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. This position is performed inside as well as outside weather conditions. Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
