JOB TITLE:
Frontiers Managing Editor

JOB PURPOSE:
Manage the Frontiers magazine print and online editions

JFNTMP

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage overall magazines production (i.e. office organization, planning, content, deadlines).

Provide coordination and consultation with Student Media staff in production of magazines.

Provide supervision and training of magazines staff.

Provide short- and long-term plans for magazines program.

Provide report of magazines operations to Student Media Board, including both verbal and written reports.

Maintain a working relationship with Student Media online editor for timely publication of magazines content.

Maintain at least 15 office hours a week.

Help advertising sales staff with advertising efforts.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Must be available to start work Aug. 15 and return to work after Winter Break Jan. 9.

Must be able to attend mandatory trainings on Monday nights.

COMPETENCIES:
Some supervisory experience.

Some general experience in writing, photography and graphic design.

Some general knowledge of online publications, including ideas for online magazine design and content

Knowledge of AP style or willingness to learn.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Full-time student

Minimum 2.5 GPA

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Magazine writing experience, including writing feature stories.
