As an integral part of the Keough School of Global Affairs, the Pulte Institute addresses global poverty and inequality through policy, practice, and partnership. It designs, implements, monitors, and evaluates projects and programs that promote human dignity, empowering the world's poorest and vulnerable populations to flourish.

The Policy Impact Specialist will be a key contributor in developing and implementing policy-oriented outputs from research programs. This includes working with funding agencies to establish policy and practitioner-oriented products, editing highly academic writing to be more accessible to various audiences, formatting research products, and generating compelling infographics for written materials such as publications, reports, policy briefs, presentations, and promotional materials. This will include editing and designing policy-oriented materials primarily for USAID's Supporting Holistic & Actionable Research in Education (SHARE) grant. The position requires exceptional organizational and communication skills, excellent English writing and editing, and the ability to quickly design effective print and electronic communication materials. This position will also train and guide faculty and researchers at our partner organizations in the countries in which we work. The individual hired for this position will work closely with Pulte Institute team members to support the research generated across divisions. The position will also assist in formulating program strategies and directing long-term planning for externally grant-funded research projects to achieve policy impact and develop new financial resources.

Research Translation: Develop and implement policy-oriented outputs for research programs, including drafting, editing, designing and formatting high-quality written content for externally-funded grants, including publications, reports, policy briefs, presentations, and promotional materials. This includes adapting academic technical writing for non-academic audiences, such as policymakers and practitioners and generating strong infographics.

Research Dissemination and Training: Execute the research dissemination strategy for the USAID SHARE grant and Pulte's other research initiatives, including the training and accompaniment of its large network of nearly 30 consistent research institute partners globally. Develop program strategies and goals, and directing long-term planning for externally grant funded research projects to achieve policy impact.

Communication: In collaboration with the Pulte Institute leadership, and communications team, prepare presentations on Pulte's research and development initiatives for appropriate external audiences and meet with policy stakeholders as needed.

This is a 2 year limited term position. Remote work options available.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must exercise exceptional accuracy, excellent attention to detail, proactiveness, and high emotional intelligence. Ability to organize and present information in a logical manner.

Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally and build capacity among colleagues from culturally diverse backgrounds and in different settings. Proven ability to use judgement, work independently, and successfully work on teams in addressing a variety of issues.

Exceptional English writing and editing skills required. Strong experience with Associated Press Style, Chicago Style, and APA Style required. Strong experience with Microsoft Office and advanced word processing required, along with working knowledge of document design software such as InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.

Preferred Qualifications:
1 to 2 years of experience working with academic researchers and experience writing for policy audiences.
