PORT MADISON ENTERPRISES CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION
Equipment Operator - Non Exempt
Pay Rate: $31.25-$70 (Depending on Experience and prevailing wage work available)
Position Summary: Operate one or several types of power construction equipment such as motor grader, bulldozer, scrapers, compressors, pumps, derricks, shovels, tractors, pavers or front-end loaders to excavate, move and grade earth, erect structures or pour concrete, asphalt or other hard surface pavement. Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant policies and procedures. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks. Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored.
Specific Job Skills:
- Good communications skills (including listening, writing and speaking)
- Ability to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting, standing or lying down.
- Ability to quickly respond with hand, finger or foot to signal, including the ability to choose quickly between two or more movements in response to two or more different signals such as lights, sounds, pictures etc.
- Ability to move hands quickly, grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, equipment and tools involved in the construction/excavating business and the ability to handle and/or operate them safely and responsibly.
Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED required. Minimum 7 yrs. of construction or excavation experience preferable, with minimum 5 yrs. of heavy equipment operations. Valid Washington State driver's license is required.
