Plumber Helper - Central Campus

• Assist Journeyman Plumber in repairing all plumbing systems and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance task on a variety of plumbing and heating equipment under the direction of a Journeyman Plumber.
• Picks up and delivers parts as needed for the Plumbing department.
• Using customer service skills, investigate assigned plumbing complaints; performs necessary minor repairs.
• Conduct corrective maintenance repair work such as, but not limited to, unclogging toilets, repairing urinals, and repairing leaking water fountains.
• Performs assigned inspections on all plumbing related devices such as water fountains, urinals, roof drains, and boilers.
• Respond to water leaks, diagnose problems and assist Plumber journeyman with adjustments or repairs.
• Respond to after hour call outs, as needed.
• Assist Plumber journeyman in recommending critical inventory and spare parts management

• Communication via email in a timely manner.
• Communication via phone calls in a timely manner.
• Direct observation of campus facilities (walking, climbing, crawling) to observe conditions.
• Observe and report equipment issues.
• Lifting up to 50lbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of basic plumbing equipment and systems,
• Working knowledge of hand tools and plumbing aptitude.

• High School Diploma

• Associates or Related Certificate

• 1 year of experience in commercial or residential plumbing with basic knowledge in a specific area obtained through training.

• Preferred enrollment working towards obtaining to become a Plumber journeyman.

• Driver’s License

• Class “B” License, Plumber Apprenticeship card

Salary Grade: 13
