Job Details

As a PLC Specialist, you will be working on creating, improving, and implementing automation and IT systems and processes in a heavy industrial process environment. You will ensure that sufficient controls are in place and that performance, cost and delivery requirements are met. In charge of supporting the IT/OT Solutions workstreams in the Operational Preparedness Plan ahead of the plant start-up and contribute to the equipment FATs, and plant commissioning, start-up and ramp-up.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for implementing IT/OT policy, including Security requirements.

· Responsible for the IT/OT infrastructures of the site

· Maintain and develop automated process systems:

· Ensure proper/safe operation of equipment and communicate challenges/issues effectively to the proper resources and frontline leadership.

· Recommend and prepare changes, additions, and modifications that will facilitate value created in the industrial processes.

· Lead continuous improvement through regularly scheduled assessments and closed loop corrective action implementation.

· Ensure processes are capable, have sufficient controls in place, can meet delivery requirements and meet cost targets.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· 2 + years of industrial automation systems design and implementation in a manufacturing environment preferred.

· PLC/HMI/SCADA/HISTORIAN/CLOUD/VFD systems design experience (Rockwell Allen-Bradley, Ignition SCADA, Azure Enterprise cloud, Danfoss and SEW Euro drive)

· Field Engineering Background

· Prior knowledge of metal process industries is a plus.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

· Fluent in AutoCAD

· Familiarity with SQL, Python, and JAVA Required

· Lean Manufacturing principles including waste reduction experience.

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, and or equivalent work experience required.

· Good communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills are essential.

TRAVEL:

Travel is less than 15% (i.e., visits to other plants or corporate offices for meetings and/or training), except for the period ahead of the start-up where external training and visits at suppliers/customers premises will be required.
