As our Programmer you will be responsible for executing how the systems put out under the Phillips Fuel Systems name work. In this role, you will apply your programming prowess in delivering upon the Sequence Of Operation defined in the system design. You will test the programs done by you and others fully as we want you to ensure that what goes out is what was designed and what the customer signed off on.

The bottom line: You are the team member that executes on the vision of the design with a programme that enables to system to work as required. You make this stuff work and you want to ensure that it works first time whilst at the same time using which ever methods you can to reduce the time taken to deliver each programme.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Producing the control programmes through which the equipment operates and interfaces with other systems by sourcing previous programmes, editing and adding.
  • Create and deliver simple HMI interfaces that make the equipment easy and intuitive to use out in the field.
  • Must be able to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up.
  • Liaising with customers or other system partners on integration and communication issues, questions and deliverables.
  • Reading the sequence of operation for designed systems and extracting what needs to be included the in the system design.
  • Advise customers, where necessary on system design changes and improvements.
  • Oversee wiring of electrical panels and PLCs.
  • Testing of program and equipment functions both with or without customers present.
  • Assure that design meets customer specifications.
  • Follow parts through fabrication and assembly.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Reviewing submittal paperwork and project specifications.
  • Advise on new approaches, parts, techniques that can make our products and processes more efficient and cost effective.
  • Provide quick turnaround times for document reviews.
  • Represent Phillips Fuel Systems on site or on the phone with customers, distributors, sales representatives where appropriate.
  • Helping in signing off all equipment shipped as meeting the approved submittals and being of outstanding production quality.
  • Provide a level of troubleshooting support for system issues in the field.
  • Assist in the training of new production specialists or field technicians.
  • Play an active role in the testing of equipment prior to shipment.

Key skills for Programmer

  • The ability to develop and implement standard engineering practices, as well as provide detailed documentation upon project completion.
  • A BS in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering is desired.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position is required.
  • Experience in Modbus, TCIP, BacNet and other forms of communication.
  • Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming with Schneider Electric and Automation Direct PLC’s.
  • Experience in Field server products a plus.
  • Experience in fuel industries is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to think designs through completely.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Will not sponsor work-related.

  • 4 hour shift
