Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Business discipline.
  • Prior experience in Dairy/Food manufacturing
  • Lean Manufacturing or 6 Sigma (Black Belt)

Knowledge and Experience:

The Dairy experience is preferable, otherwise he/she will be trained to know and perform all Company, State and Federal regulations pertaining to receiving, production, shipping, and CIP of all Plant equipment. He/she must have a full understanding of Safety-Security regulations, Plant Sanitarian regulations and procedures, SQF, GMP’s, Union and Disciplinary Contract-procedures, all management functions, finally to have very good communication skills.

Job Summary:

Working within the limits of authority and within company policies and procedures, directs the activities of the Production, Cooler/warehouse, Maintenance and Quality control departments. He/she is responsible for balance and communication between all departments white ensuring that tasks are completed in a safe quality manner.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow and maintain all Safety – Security rules and regulations.
  • Follow and enforce all GMP’s and Discipline in the Plant.
  • Responsible for analyzing plant losses and implanting corrective actions
  • Responsible for monitoring labor hours and overtime
  • Responsible for all Plant-employees training.
  • Responsible for regulatory (Safety-Security) receiving, storage and load out all products.
  • Responsible for communications with other Plants or Customers.
  • Responsible for daily cleanliness in the Plant (inside-outside).
  • Monitor and maintain product tank holding times based on NYS regulations
  • Work with plant accountant, production planner, and department leads to control monthly and yearly inventories.
  • In cooperation with QC manager, responsible for: daily clean up all Plant’s areas and other Master Sanitation Program – Schedule needs.
  • Daily attends the Plant management meeting and informs the Plant manager about important actions that are taken or to be taken through day.
  • Responsible for Supervisors training and their job performance reviews.
  • Work with Production lead to monitor, maintain, and improve production downtime and efficiencies.
  • Work with Cooler lead to monitor, maintain, and improve load out accuracy, voice to pick usage, scanning technology, and receiving accuracy.
  • Work with Maintenance manager to maintain and/or improve existing operations.
  • Work with Safety coordinator to monitor, maintain, and reduce incidents and events.
  • Attends scheduled monthly Safety-Security meeting.
  • Coordinating daily requirements between ALL departments (QC, Engineers and Plant)
  • Responsible to organize and perform any other duties assigned by: Plant manager.
  • The Plant manager substitute (taking all his Duties and responsibilities).
  • Must apply all HACCP principals.
