What you’ll do

The Plant Manager role is accountable for Single Use and Filtration manufacturing at the Westborough site, Bioreactor production at the Shrewsbury site and Warehouse Operations to support both facilities located in the town of Southbourough, approximately 3 miles from the Westborough site. These three facilities comprise nearly 500 associates in total that support manufacturing operations. This includes functions like Raw Material handling, Quality Control, waste water treatment and also Maintenance, System Support, Business Continuity and DBS- driven Process Improvement. All our products are used by pharmaceutical companies and others for developing and making biologic medicines including vaccines and cancer therapies.

Recognized as a senior leader you will lead a very sophisticated manufacturing operation, regularly influence senior management and develop / implement system-wide strategic business plans for the manufacturing plant. You are responsible for leading plant-manufacturing operations, and meeting all operational defined targets such as quality, cost, delivery and safety.


Key Responsibilities Include

  • Driving manufacturing team towards execution of Business Goals using DBS (Danaher Business System) with tools such as Lean Manufacturing methodology, daily management and PSP.
  • Ensuring sufficient capacity exists to achieve customer commitments per the operating plan and executing on the breakthrough objectives developed by the business in the Hoshin Kanri model
  • Improving fulfillment and other customer metrics while delivering the financial targets for the sites
  • Staff the sites to support the major initiatives driven by the business and properly manage headcount plan
  • Work horizontally with customers, product management, engineering and the enterprise team to ensure the right customer value is being produced.
  • Driving Product Quality, Lean and e-Manufacturing so that internal business metrics are met
  • Ensure a safe work environment and follow existing laws/regulations. Use HOP and other EHS related tools
  • Aware of and follow the Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Maintaining full Quality System Regulation and imperatives given by the business for the sites

Who you are

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Sciences or Business; Master’s Degree preferred
  • +10 years’ experience with proven leadership in manufacturing operations or supply chain
  • Great presentation skills, proven both internally and towards customers
  • Excellent project management, communication and analytical skills
  • Creates energy to deliver company goals through creation and comprehensive communication of practical "hands-on" operational plans and strategies
  • Growth leadership skills demonstrating clear perspective and understand factors impacting our businesses and our suppliers
  • Energizing others by building a connection with the team through personal involvement & trust & providing feedback & coaching to help develop others
