Job description
As an Operations Manager, you will provide operational management for the entire production process for the business. You will coordinate each step of the production process, ensure quality standards are met, and lead continuous improvement using hands-on and strategic actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and deliver quality coatings safely, on time, and within PPG guidelines, following the PPG Way to Lead.
- Lead a safe, clean, cost-efficient production organization that is committed to a high level of first run capability.
- Evaluate equipment, facility, warehousing/distribution, and process needs, and prepare capital authorizations to meet all needs.
- Provide ownership and direction for the financial health of the site. This includes generation of annual budget(s), required reporting, and the development of cost improvement actions to ensure adherence to budgetary commitments.
- Develop work force skill sets that garner increased site capability and commitment to organizational goals.
- Lead new product scale up and CapEx initiatives
- Lead employee engagement and development to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
- 5+ years’ experience of Operations and Production Supervision in a manufacturing facility
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
