We are currently searching for a Plant Accountant in our Rockford, MN location! The function of this position is to provide daily administration of the Kingspan manufacturing facility’s accounting and finance activities, providing support with financial analysis as well as continuous improvement of the accounting function. The Plant Accountant provides timely and accurate accounting and finance services while complying with all legislative and corporate requirements, ensures an adequate system of internal control is maintained, general ledger accounts are correctly stated and classified, and that financial reporting is prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), where applicable.

Key Duties Include:

Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Performs work in a safe manner; promotes and fosters a safe work environment.
  • Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts on a recurring basis, including posting monthly journal entries and completing account reconciliations.
  • Conducts the month and year end closing process.
  • Provides cost accounting expertise for the manufacturing operations.
  • Provides monthly production variance analysis and investigates discrepancies.
  • Prepares analytical reports as part of the executive monthly reporting package.
  • Ensures GAAP is incorporated into the management of the business. Reports on IFRS basis where applicable.
  • Ensures appropriate internal controls are in place and supports effective and efficient financial audits.
  • Works closely with manufacturing operations to ensure accurate and timely capture of all production costs and effective analysis of production variances.
  • Oversees plant inventories.
  • Reviews and approves accounts payable payment run on a weekly basis.
  • Develops the Plant budget.
  • Develops, monitors and analyzes manufacturing overhead allocation and burden rates to ensure appropriateness.
  • Develops and maintains thorough financial procedures and systems.
  • Updates/maintains product data in SAP including costing, bills of materials, labor rates, and other applicable cost items and processes.
  • Assists the Finance team in developing more effective workflow processes

  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Product Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations and market demands.
  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of Compliance Management System.
  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
Qualifications:

Strong math, time management, organization, and computer skills with SAP experience highly preferred.


Must have:
  • Strong working knowledge of business computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word). SAP or similar software experience preferred.
  • Strong math, time management, and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with solid cost accounting background.

Must be able to:
  • Work in a team-based environment.
  • Follow directions and get along well with others.
  • Maintain strict confidence in financial sensitive information and demonstrate a high level of integrity.
