Job description

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Assists patients to dress, undress, and put on and remove supportive devices, such as braces, splints, and slings, before and after treatments.

2. Secures patients into or onto therapy equipment.

3. Safeguards, motivates, and assists patients practicing exercises and functional activities under direction of professional staff.

4. Provides routine treatments, such as hydrotherapy, hot and cold packs, ultrasound and paraffin bath.

5. Transports patients to and from treatment area.

6. Sets up supplies and linen in treatment rooms and cleans work area and equipment after treatment.

7. Assists with departmental program to maintain and improve the quality of services and patient care.

8. Assists in conducting inventory of supplies as assigned.

9. Assist in performance of receptionist/clerical functions.

10. Uses computer to assess patient information and enter daily billing.

11. Cultures whirlpool tanks as scheduled.

12. Assist in the monitoring of electrical safety and equipment maintenance for biomedical equipment and completes the required department procedures.

13. Assist in the monitoring of non-electrical department equipment and completes the required department procedures including documentation.

14. Schedules out patient appointments.

Qualifications

- High School Diploma

- At least 1 year of Physical Therapy Technician experience in a Hospital setting.
