We're looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at Village House. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in an office that emphasizes treatment and prevention of chronic health issues and conditions, as well as the integration of physical therapy with other medical services. We are seeking someone who is experienced in geriatrics and has strong communication skills to help us build strong relationships with clients.

Village House is a 95-bed skilled nursing facility located in Newport, RI specializing in short-term rehab, long-term and memory care. We are in need of a Physical Therapist to work Part-Time with a sense of responsibility and ability to work with our residents, patients, their families and other staff members. Qualified applicants must possess a valid RI state license in Physical Therapy and assume resonsibility for continuing education and professional development. Experience in long term care preferred but not required. Interest in physical therapy treatment programs for the geriatric and subacute populations utilizing a team approach a must!

Responsibilities:

• Work in a team environment with patients/residents and other healthcare professionals.
• Assess and evaluate physical abilities, needs, and goals in order to design a personal rehabilitation plan, utilizing physical medicine, home exercises, and physical therapy exercises.
• Administer prescribed treatments and evaluate patient/resident progress and adherence to plan.
• Treat conditions of the musculoskeletal system, such as low back pain, disc problems, joint injuries, or infections.
• Provide information to patients/residents on how to rehabilitate using self-care methods.
• Give instructions on when to seek medical advice from their primary care provider or specialist.
• Coach patients/residents on activities after surgery or injury.
