Phlebotomy Technician

The Phlebotomy Technician will:
Conduct confidential interviews with patient /legal guardian to ensure accurate data collection regarding demographic information, including legal identification and accurate address, guarantor information and insurance information- Obtain and witness legal signature on the Medical consent, Appeal Notice and Self-Pay Waiver (when necessary); be able to explain each form to the patient; explain the Health Information
- Exchange to each patient, along with their option to opt out; and obtain a second witness when the patient's legal guardian is not present Must be able to perform EKG proficiently
- Obtain either venipuncture or capillary specimens from neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in both the inpatient and outpatient setting using established policies and procedures
- Perform initial and post-screening for Glucose Tolerance Testing by glucometer, according to policy.
Requirements:
Medical Terminology, ICD 10 coding and CRT data experience strongly preferred.- Strong customer service skills.
- Knowledge of third party payer, federal and state regulations desired.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic team player.
- Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) preferred.
Availability: Part Time and Full Time Day Shift
