THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE EXPECTED TO COMMUTE TO THE OFFICE IN MILPITAS, CA MONTHLY. THEY MUST RESIDE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND PREFERABLY IN SONOMA COUNTY.

POSITION OVERVIEW


The Development Officer, Corporate and Individual Engagement will be responsible for strategies leading to significant growth in leadership gifts from corporate and individual donors.


This position works in concert with the Chief Development Officer; the Development Officer, Donor Engagement, and the Development Officer, Community Engagement to drive significant growth in contributed income. Members of the Development Office are forward-facing with an external focus. As organization representatives, they must have exceptional communications skills. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS


The position reports to the Chief Development Officer and is a vital member of the development team, which includes a development officer, donor engagement; development officer, community engagement; development associate; grant writer; and five community engagement coordinators. The Development Officer, Corporate and Individual Engagement does not manage staff.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Drive corporate giving — apart from event sponsorships— and leadership individual giving that eventually yields six- figure plus annual gifts.
  • Create a pipeline of donors for long-term viability.
  • Drive growth of new donors in geographic areas of recent expansion, specifically Sonoma County.
  • Work with Development and Marketing & Communications teams to create fundraising collateral as needed for solicitations.
  • Participate in conferences and trainings to remain abreast of best practices.
  • Work closely with staff and other stakeholders to gain valuable perspectives on the organization.
  • Travel throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, including overnight stays.
  • Report out on donor process tracking.
  • Model the values and principles of HomeFirst within the agency and the broader community.

  • Demonstrated experience in growing contributed income year-over-year
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, advanced degree or fundraising certification desired (CFRE, CSPG, CFP, etc.)
  • High level of discretion and integrity
  • Organizational skills with ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs etc.),
  • DonorPerfect or other donor database proficiency preferred; knowledge of wealth screening tools such as DonorSearch desired
  • Ability to travel throughout San Francisco Bay Area, including overnight
  • Consistent analysis of data to improve performance and achieve goals

SALARY AND BENEFITS


  • The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000
