Job description
Registered as a technician with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Certification as a pharmacy technician through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred. If not upon hire, must attain within one year of hire. Two years previous pharmacy experience required. Hospital or benefits investigation experience preferred. Experience with Epic electronic medical record, Rx30 pharmacy software, and Asembia patient therapy manager a plus.The pharmacy benefit specialist must have excellent customer service and communication skills, will be proficient in a variety of computer programs (MS Word, Excel), must be very organized and perform autonomously. Operation of point of sale (cash register or remote point of sale device) and other office equipment (fax, copier, printers) is required. Must be able to help with reporting, tracking of patients, assist in normal specialty patient processes, and assist in other functions when needed.
