DAY-TO-DAY

This full-time human services position typically works evenings. Flexibility is needed as schedules may also include nights, weekends, and holidays.

As a Personal Care Attendant / Direct Support Professional, you support people with developmental disabilities to live their best lives as independently as possible. Your guidance is needed during the evening in their homes or in the community. You offer support in many areas of daily living including medication administration, hygiene, shopping, meal preparation, transportation, and housekeeping. You also assist with developing social skills and maintaining relationships.

Highly organized, you develop and coordinate schedules, develop and revise training plans, and implement approved training. You carefully observe behaviors, skill levels, and areas of interest to provide recommendations. Using effective teaching and mentoring techniques, you provide life skills training in areas such as employment, money management, cooking, and self-care. You also transport individuals to and from program activities and appointments as needed.

You provide accurate and up-to-date documentation. Staying current on effective techniques is important, and you are sure to participate in training opportunities throughout the year. You come in each evening motivated and leave each night fulfilled, knowing you are making a difference in the community!

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Commitment to providing high-quality services to individuals with disabilities in community and residential settings
• AMAP (Approved Medication Assistive Personnel) certification
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Covid-19 vaccination
